SEPTEMBER 13 IS ROALD DAHL DAY!

September 13 is Roald Dahl Day! Mr. Dahl, author of such fabulous books as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda (and many others) was born on Sept. 13, 1916 in Llandaff, Wales. Did you know that he coined the word "gremlin"?

This year, however, is particularly special because it is the 50th Anniversary of one of Roald Dahl’s best loved stories, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH!

Visit the Children's Room and check out our Roald Dahl book display and take home a "scrumdiddlyumptious" book by Roald Dahl!

You can also:
 1. Wear something yellow (Roald's favorite color).
 2. Give someone a favorite book - wrapped in newspaper and tied up in string, just like Roald used to do!
 3. Tell a silly joke - Roald loved swapping these with his kids!
 3. Write your own Revolting Rhyme.

Find out more ways you can celebrate Roald Dahl Day at the official Roald Dahl Website.
