Coventry Storm Clean-up Update 9-1-2011

Drinking Water is available free at Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School lot. (Additional ice has been requested but is not yet available…If we get some it will be next to the water truck…two bags max.)
September 1:  Pasta Dinner at 5:00 Coventry High School Cafeteria provided by UCONN Women Basketball (600 meals).
Showers are open at Coventry High School 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 Thursday and Friday & 6 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday.  Enter through the Auditorium entrance on side.  Bring own towel and toiletries.
Food waste (only) will be accepted at transfer station free of charge Saturday between 9 A.M. and noon.
Brush and limbs (only) will be accepted free of charge at Town's South Street Extension Gravel pit (Turn onto South Street Extension from Main Street and continue straight past Miller-Richardson ball fields down the hill, turn right into the pit.  Look for directions to pile).  No town wide brush pick up is planned.  Do not place material at road edge.
The boil water order only applies to the Pilgrim Hills neighborhood due to a construction accident, not related to the storm.
Limited meals ready-to-eat and bottled water will be available at pasta dinner.
CLP is predicting at least 1,000 households in the lake area may have power restored tonight.   In the Northern end of town CLP is estimating 99% restoration by Sept. 2.  and 100% BY Sept. 3. Please call CLP at 1-800-286-2000 to report your outage and track the restoration projection.
