national literacy initiative in the country. Pop by the Children's
Department all week and learn how to draw a Chinese Dragon using

BABYGARTEN

Babygarten is a fun and informational program for children (ages birth to 35 months) and their caregivers.It runs in multiple 6-week sessions during the year. Babygarten focuses on how nursery rhymes, songs, and books can enrich a child’s life from the very beginning and provide them with a foundation for the future. Registration is not required. Siblings are welcome.

TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY
Join us this Saturday, Feb. 2, for Take Your Child to the Library Day! Drop by the Children's Room (we're open from 10 AM to 3 PM) for games, crafts, Legos, a Scavenger Hunt and more. We'll also be raffling off a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card - get a raffle ticket just for visiting the Children's Room!
It's a great day to get your child a library card! Refreshments will be served, as well. We hope you can drop in!

“The One and Only Ivan,” written by Katherine Applegate, is the 2013 Newbery Medal winner. The book is published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, a division of HarperCollins Publishers.
Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children:
“This Is Not My Hat,” illustrated and written by Jon Klassen, is the 2013 Caldecott Medal winner. The book is published by Candlewick Press.

1 Non-Perishable Food Item = $1 Off in Fines!!!
From now until December 23rd for every non-perishable food item you bring to the Library we will take $1 off of your fines. Items will be donated to Human Services Food Drive.
Money can not be taken off lost items, fines, printing or fax.
