Trash pick-up on normal schedule (no Labor Day collection). Extra food waste disposal can be brought to the transfer station Sat. 9 AM-noon. Transfer station open extended hours Thurs 11 AM-6PM and Sat. 9-3 for demolition debris at regular rates. Brush to Town gravel pit off So. St. Ext. at no charge.
Free Community Pasta Dinner to be held Thurs. 5 PM at CHS cafeteria by UConn Women’s Basketball Team -- meet team & Geno Auriemma. Call 860-742-5324 if special transport needed to dinner. Power outages expected to continue for several days. Cell phone charging available at Town Hall and Booth & Dimock Library, and WiFi zone in Town Hall & Booth & Dimock Library.

Yeesh - looks like some bad weather for the weekend! We suggest stocking up on books - no batteries or electricity required for reading them! We're open today, Friday, from 1 PM to 6 PM. We are not open this Saturday. This is your last chance to check out some great materials to help you get through the weekend!

Congratulations to our One World, Many Stories summer reading program participants! You've read an amazing 2,722 hours this summer! That's over 113 days of non-stop reading! Way to go! We're very proud of you all - don't forget to keep reading....
The summer reading program has officially ended, the Grand Prize Raffle has been officially drawn, and prizes will no longer be available...however, if you have earned a free book (20 ovals filled in on your Reading Log) and haven't yet claimed it, you may still do so in the next few weeks.

Drumming About You
We hope everyone has been having a fabulous summer! It's certainly been super-busy here at the library. We want to remind our summer reading program participants that there is still time to do a lot of reading - the program ends on Thursday, August 18. That is the last day to bring in your reading logs, choose prizes, and enter the grand prize raffle!
We're celebrating the end of our summer reading program with a program called DRUMMING ABOUT YOU (for kids and families) with Bob Bloom at 2:30 PM on August 18. Rock, roll, sway, boogie and swing with Bob Bloom and some of the world’s favorite drums and percussion. Everyone will get the chance to play the drums! For all ages. Registration is required - call 742-7606 or visit our EVENTS page to register.
